Easier With AT is a product of the Connecticut State Department of Education to help Connecticut residents access information related to tools, devices, supports, and services regarding Assistive Technology (AT). Because the site’s intended audience will be students, families and educators working with disabilities, the site’s development needed to pay close attention to being accessible for people that are visually and physically impaired.
My role as the lead developer was to ensure that the website met the WCAG accessibility guidelines including acceptable visual contrast designs, keyboard accessibility, font sizing for legibility, and accessible for screen reader devices. Additionally I developed the site’s data structure, ACF incorporation and integration of external APIs.
